South Bohemia
Beautiful silhouettes of small medieval towns, together with provincial
churches and snowy farmhouses, dominate the picturesque region of
South Bohemia, which also features a large number of fishponds, large
forests and peat bogs. The countryside of this region has not been
affected by large industrial plants and there are a number of protected
areas located here. This region is a sought-after tourist destination
not only for its beautiful nature but also for a number of historic
sights and good conditions for cycling and water sports.
