Krivoklat
This large Gothic royal castle from the 13th century was originally
a hunting castle of the Premyslides family. It was re-built for Vladislav
Jagellonsky in the end of the 15th century. A prison was established
here in the 16th century. The castle burnt down in 1643 and was restored
by J. Mocker and K. Hilbert between the 19th and 20th century. Historic
interiors include a chapel, the Knights Hall, the Royal Hall, the
Furstenberk Library, a prison and the F?rstenberk Museum. The exhibition
of hunting is situated in a cylindrical tower. The Huderka Tower became
a look-out-tower. |
